Claws OUT! Rose McGowan slams ‘fake 1’ Alyssa Milano for defending Weinstein’s wife (bonus Streep slam)

Sun, 12/10/2017 - 13:39

Mere days after TIME magazine declared #MeToo as their so-called person of the year, Alyssa Milano was interviewed about her friend (and Weinstein’s estranged wife), Georgina Chapman.

From Apple News:

“Georgina is doing very well,” Milano told Today‘s Megyn Kelly on Tuesday. “She’s an amazing mother. She’s an amazing woman, and I think her priority right now is focusing on how to raise those two children to the best of her capacity given the situation.”

Pretty sure Rose McGowan isn’t exactly worried about how Chapman, a woman who many feel enabled Weinstein for years and years, is doing.

You make me want to vomit. You actually gave me a body flashback. Well done, fake one – People

— rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) December 8, 2017

Well done, fake one.

Today @Alyssa_Milano stood in front of a packed house IN TEARS and called you her friend and her costar. Her first #MeToo posting was in support of YOU!! The same way she is supporting her friend @georginachapman THAT IS WHAT FRIENDS DO! I stand in support of my friend Alyssa♥️

— Rena Sofer (@RenaSofer) December 9, 2017

Oh, poor Alyssa.

I'm sorry to inform you, but that is not correct. She stood for nothing and nobody but her generic phony political speech because she is still under his payroll as host of Project Runway Allstars.

— Kenley Collins (@kenleycollins) December 9, 2017

You heard what you want to hear.

— The Morning Spew (@TheMorningSpew) December 9, 2017

Truth hurts.

Leaving @rosemcgowan off the @TIME cover is one of the biggest snubs of all time.

— Lance Cooper (@804StreetMedia) December 8, 2017

If Rose hadn’t come out in the epic fashion she did who knows what may or may not have come out about the predators in Hollywood, the media and in DC.

I'm saying Georgina Champan's company was 100% funded by Weinstein money. No one knew who she was in the fashion world before she married him.
I'm saying Weinstein bullied abused women to wear his wife's clothing line.
I'm saying she knew who and want she married and why.

— KillingMyCareer (@MelaynaLokosky) December 8, 2017

Seems people keep forgetting this tidbit, that not only was Chapman perhaps an enabler but she literally profited from her marriage to Weinstein when he would force women to wear her clothes.

And no matter how many women (and men) were complaining at Rose for calling Alyssa out, we don’t think she’s going to hug it out with the slacktivist anytime soon:

Alyssa, maybe you and Georgina can call up Camille Cosby

— rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) December 8, 2017

Its called willful blindness. Some do it for their own safety. Others do it for their own comfort.

— TParadis (@TammyJParadis) December 8, 2017

Had to google who Camille Cosby is, to get your words. Now I understand your hate. I´m so sorry, Rose. I can´t even imagine your pain.
But I don´t think Alyssa is a bad person – after all, she was the one who triggered the #MeToo movement, she may be naive.

— Visky ile Dean (@_SarahManning__) December 8, 2017

Actually no, Alyssa is not the one who triggered the movement (and these people wonder why Rose is so angry with her):

Info on the #metoo movement

Getting old, Hollywood.

And speaking of getting old.

No, Meryl, IT’S A FUCKING CRIME. You are such a lie # ROSEARMY Meryl Streep on Harvey Weinstein allegations: It's 'the most gargantuan example of disrespect' – USA TODAY

D’OH! Sarah Sanders catches CNN in ANOTHER #FakeNews fail, Kal Penn joins mockfest

Sat, 12/09/2017 - 14:13

As you know, CNN had another embarrassing day and had to correct a story that began as a “bombshell” and ended as a fizzled dud.

White House Press Secretary added insult to injury after spotting CNN making a different goof:

.@CNN this is definitely not @RajShah45 but it is #FakeNews

— Sarah Sanders (@PressSec) December 9, 2017

I know Raj Shah.
I've worked with Raj Shah.
This is not @RajShah45.
…. @CNN you're losing more credibility by the hour. Time to reboot.

— Emily Miller (@EmilyMiller) December 9, 2017

Way to go, CNN — again.

Oh man. This is the other Raj Shah, the one who runs the Rockefeller Foundation.

— Josh Barro (@jbarro) December 9, 2017

That would be the former head of USAID, not the White House press aide

— Blake Hounshell (@blakehounshell) December 9, 2017

Did CNN use their “sources” to confirm that first? *Eye roll*

So @CNN just runs with a picture they think matches an ethnic name? Today would eat up all of @brianstelter’s show if it were Fox crapping the bed and not his network.

— Derek Hunter (@derekahunter) December 9, 2017

My god what is wrong with CNN? They need to go out of business, this is getting out of control

— Dagny Delinquent (@DagnyDelinquent) December 9, 2017

— Greg Pollowitz (@GPollowitz) December 9, 2017

This is pathetic @cnn geez at least get right person. You’d think after your stellar day with @DonaldJTrumpJr reporting you’d be more careful.

— LMN (@txlcunningham) December 9, 2017

Actor Kal Penn was among those piling on:

Hey @cnn our Raj Shahs don’t all look alike

‘Again?’ Greta Van Susteren HAMMERS news orgs pushing BS disguised as Trump bombshells

Fri, 12/08/2017 - 20:48

CNN’s dump of their latest huge pile of “fake news” is just the latest example of media malpractice. Greta Van Susteren sees it all as out of control:

Again? In just a few days it has been ABC,and Reuters..and now this! (from @axios ) If we in the media are going to fight the criticism of fake news, we have to stop these mistakes. These hurt everyone in the news business. Where is news management ?

— Greta Van Susteren (@greta) December 8, 2017

And it just keeps happening again and again.

Once again many overzealous journalists jumped the gun on this story.

— Tim Pool (@Timcast) December 8, 2017

Greta, at what point do we stop calling these "mistakes" and look at the trend and determine that these are not just innocent mistakes but intended to mislead people.

— An Approved Workman (@WorkmanApproved) December 8, 2017

Well News management is too busy installing buttons under desks for guys like Matt Lauer

— Kayla Martz (@Kayluvsredwings) December 8, 2017

The anti-Trump hate fest by the media overwhelms all sense of responsibility again and again. They have no shame and less and less credibility with the public. When will they learn.

— T Lee Humphrey (@tleehumphrey) December 8, 2017

The problem is, these are no honest mistakes.

FAKE NEWS fail! Another CNN Trump ‘bombshell’ explodes in their faces; Updated

Fri, 12/08/2017 - 19:06

CNN reported exclusively that Donald Trump Jr. tweeted about Hillary Clinton and Wikileaks on the same day he supposedly was sent info by Wikileaks, which CNN said was September 4th. CNN had “bombshell” on the brain:

Exclusive: Donald Trump, Trump Jr. and others in the Trump Organization got an email in September 2016 offering a decryption key and link for hacked WikiLeaks documents

— CNN (@CNN) December 8, 2017

New @CNN Exclusive: Candidate Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr. & others in the Trump Org. received email in Sept. 2016 offering a decryption key & website address for hacked WikiLeaks documents, according to email provided to congressional investigators

— David Wright (@DavidWright_CNN) December 8, 2017

And the media (and The Resistance) were off and running:

Trump Jr. first tweeted about WikiLeaks on same day he was offered access to hacked WikiLeaks documents

— The Hill (@thehill) December 8, 2017

I'm sure this is just a big coincidence but the day that Trump Jr. was sent a Wikileaks encryption key was the first day he ever tweeted about Wikileaks

— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) December 8, 2017

Whoa. If the Trump camp had access to stolen emails in advance and guided Wikileaks' activity last fall, that would amount to a criminal conspiracy

— Brian Fallon (@brianefallon) December 8, 2017

Just one problem. CNN didn’t have the dates correct, meaning Trump Jr’s tweet was many days before the Wikileaks email:

BREAKING: That WikiLeaks email was actually from Sept. 14, not Sept. 4 — which means it is far less significant

— Aaron Blake (@AaronBlake) December 8, 2017

“Far less significant” to say the least.

So CNN misreported the date of the Wikileaks email that @DonaldJTrumpJr received, meaning that the entire point of the story —
that the campaign might have gotten advance warning of the leaks — is wrong. Wow.

— Sarah Westwood (@sarahcwestwood) December 8, 2017

Holy crap. That’s a huge error. Like Brian Ross level huge.

— Liz Wheeler (@Liz_Wheeler) December 8, 2017

Almost a thousand shares. It’s false.

— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) December 8, 2017

But, like clockwork, the media had already spread it all over the place:

Why everyone hates the media, #498,841

— Dan Goldwasser (@dgoldwas) December 8, 2017

They still haven't corrected the story and it's their top headline.

Still leading CNN right now

— Peter J. Hasson (@peterjhasson) December 8, 2017

Bravo, CNN. You idiots.

— Arthur Schwartz (@ArthurSchwartz) December 8, 2017

— James Taranto (@jamestaranto) December 8, 2017

Turns out that 'bombshell' email that @DonaldJTrumpJr received from @Wikileaks with tons of DNC oppo on it:

1. Was sent by a rando
2. Was never responded to
3. Contained already public information

— Jim Treacher is a dumb pseudonym (@jtLOL) December 8, 2017 @brianstelter

— DC Dude (@DCDude1776) December 8, 2017

Update: CNN finally acknowledged the error and admitted that their apple was in fact a banana all along:

CNN's initial reporting of the date on an email sent to members of the Trump campaign about Wikileaks documents, which was confirmed by two sources to CNN, was incorrect. We have updated our story to include the correct date, and present the proper context for the timing of email

— CNN Communications (@CNNPR) December 8, 2017

CORRECTION: Email sent to Trump and Trump Jr. offering WikiLeaks documents was sent on Sept. 14, not Sept. 4 as we originally reported

— Jeremy Herb (@jeremyherb) December 8, 2017

Editor’s note: This post has been updated to include additional tweets.

*SNICKER* Iowahawk MOCKS Al Franken’s self-serving resignation speech, and it’s PERFECT

Fri, 12/08/2017 - 18:45

Yesterday, as soon-not-to-be-a Senator Al Franken stood in front of the world and gave a fairly pathetic and absolutely self-serving resignation speech many people took notice of a few things he said … or didn’t say. He didn’t give a timeframe for when he would actually step down, he made a dig (or five) at Trump, and he slammed the women who accused him.

All things considered, it was a fairly lame-ass resignation which was quickly followed by Democrats pretending they have the moral authority when it comes to perverts even though they’ve been protecting some ICONS for decades.

Iowahawk mocked Franken PERFECTLY:

I am angered by these bogus claims of so-called "liquor store truck crashes." The record shows no one has done more for liquor stores than me. So today, I am announcing I will give up my drivers license at some time in the future to be determined.

— David Burge (@iowahawkblog) December 8, 2017

Franken thinks no one has done more for women than he has; sounds a little like Weinstein who started ranting about how he’d take on the NRA when it came out that he was sexually assaulting houseplants all across the country.

You reserve the right to not give up said license if a particular store gets some stock of Balcones single malt.

— John Commodore Barry (@ShrinkGov) December 8, 2017

At some point, he’ll pay the consequences for his actions.

Keep an eye on Franken if Moore gets elected, watch how quickly he decides he shouldn’t resign after all.

— Bad Wolf (@ericbjediknight) December 8, 2017

What a hero, right?

The records are blurred and do not show it the way I remember the liquor store pass out

— RG (@rg_real) December 8, 2017

This is not how he remembers running into liquor stores with his truck and he’s sorry those liquor stores remember it differently.

Please tell me that this is not just a running gag, and that you actually ran into a liquor store at some point. You could personally salvage the God awful year that has been 2017 for me.

— Matt Bennett (@mattben10) December 8, 2017

Dude, you never know. Iowahawk is CRAZY that way.

'I regret that certain plate glass windows are apparently disturbed by what were just innocent parking mistakes, to be expected in strip malls and I don't recall combat parking and shattering them, but of course I grieve for their brokenness.'

We need a WW2 level mobilization to combat global warming.

The Justice Department has launched a federal investigation into Planned Parenthood’s practices and the sale of fetal tissue.

In a letter first obtained by Fox News, Justice Department Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Stephen Boyd formally requested unredacted documents from the Senate Judiciary Committee, the same panel that led the congressional probe into the women’s health organization.

The letter, sent to [Committee Chairman Chuck] Grassley and [Ranking Member Dianne] Feinstein on Thursday, is a rare confirmation by the Justice Department of a federal investigation.

NAILED it! Tammy Bruce needs just 2 words to obliterate Franken’s ‘resignation speech’

Thu, 12/07/2017 - 22:48

During Al Franken’s address on the Senate floor today, the current Minnesota senator said he’d be resigning within a matter of weeks. Franken also took the opportunity to slime his accusers and take a jab at President Trump.

.@KarlRove on @SenFranken: "That resignation speech was one of the least admissions of guilt of anybody I've ever seen."

— FOX Business (@FoxBusiness) December 7, 2017

“Resignation speech” isn’t the right description, according to Tammy Bruce:

That wasn’t a resignation speech, it was a sucker punch. Franken *hasn’t resigned.*

— Tammy Bruce (@HeyTammyBruce) December 7, 2017

Sucker punch? Ouch! You’d think if Franken had a real intention of resigning he’d be packed and out of there now, and not in “weeks.”

Right. He'll have a change of heart because he owes it (he'll claim) to his constituents. That was a sleazy grab at having it both way.

Rep. John Lewis refuses to attend civil rights museum opening with President Trump in attendance

— TIME (@TIME) December 7, 2017

U.S. Rep John Lewis says he won’t speak at the opening of Mississippi civil rights and history museums, calling it intolerable that President Donald Trump will attend.

Lewis made the announcement Thursday. The Georgia Democrat and civil rights icon helped organize the 1964 Freedom Summer targeting segregation in Mississippi.

The Saturday ceremony marks Mississippi’s bicentennial of admission into the union. But what was intended as a moment of racial unity and atonement in the state with the largest share of African-Americans is descending into racial and partisan strife after Republican Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant invited fellow Republican Trump to attend.

Civil rights legend @RepJohnLewis declines to attend the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum due to Trump's presence, calling it "an insult to the people portrayed in this civil rights museum."

His statement with @BennieGThompson:

“The Contract Request Form that was submitted was denied because it did not have complete information about the presenter,” Carolyn Strycharz, director of campus leadership, informed Hirani by email, going on to call the very nature of the event “controversial.”

Of course, the application was filled out but that didn’t stop them from releasing this lame apology:

Hampshire College sincerely apologizes to @antonia_okafor for canceling your speech tonight that was to have been held on our campus. Here is our full public apology and statement:

— Hampshire College (@hampshirecolg) December 7, 2017

Ummm, wow.

Seems the President of Hampshire College then contacted Antonia to take full responsibility for the cancellation and stated it shouldn’t have happened.

CORRECTION: The President of Hampshire College just called me directly and told me that they take "full responsibility" for the mistake and should NOT have canceled. I told them they must send out another apology where they rescind their blame of the student involved. They have.

— Antonia Okafor (@antonia_okafor) December 7, 2017

Hampshire College's NEW apology. An actual one. Not one that blames the student for an error he did not make.

— Antonia Okafor (@antonia_okafor) December 7, 2017

Took ’em long enough.

Why on Earth would any college find a strong, black, Conservative female and gun advocate to be controversial?

Wait, don’t answer that.

When the 1st Amendment is denied to a black female Conservative who promotes the 2nd Amendment.

WATCH: Resigning Al Franken takes parting swipe at Trump on way out door

Thu, 12/07/2017 - 17:39

As Twitchy has reported, Sen. Al Franken took to the Senate floor today to announce that he’d be resigning in a matter of weeks. Dozens of Democrats had called for his resignation, but Franken sounded defiant in regards to the accusations against him:

Sen. Al Franken: "Some of the allegations against me are simply not true. Others I remember differently."

— World News Tonight (@ABCWorldNews) December 7, 2017

Sen. Franken on sexual misconduct allegations: "I was shocked. I was upset. But in responding to their claims, I also wanted to be respectful of that broader conversation, because all women deserve to be heard."

— NBC News (@NBCNews) December 7, 2017

Franken managed to use the opportunity of his own resignation after several harassment allegations to slam both President Trump and GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore:

Franken resigns but denies allegations against him. Says "ironic" he must resign while Trump stays in office and GOP supports Moore.

— Julie Nelson (@JulieNelsonKARE) December 7, 2017

WATCH: Sen. Al Franken takes one final jab at Trump, Moore

— WSVN 7 News (@wsvn) December 7, 2017

It’s almost as if the goal of Franken’s entire speech was to make those listening forget the reason he had to deliver the speech in the first place.

Girl POWER! Jennifer Lawrence brags she’ll throw a drink in Trump’s face, trips over THIS pic

Thu, 12/07/2017 - 17:19

Seems Jennifer Lawrence is all set to throw a martini in the face of the president because of girl power and stuff.

Jennifer Lawrence: If I meet Trump, it'll end with "a martini to the face"

— The Hill (@thehill) December 6, 2017

Hey, don’t look at us, we just work here man.

From The Hill:

Lawrence said in 2015 that a Trump presidency would be “the end of the world.” But earlier this year, she preached unity, telling Vogue that the country needs to come together because “we can’t continue this divide and anger.”

While the 27-year-old Oscar winner says she’s never come face-to-face with Trump, she told Winfrey she’d “definitely” be prepared if the opportunity presented itself.

“I’ve got a pretty good speech,” Lawrence said, adding with a laugh that “it ends with a martini to the face.”

So tough.

She does realize that throwing a drink in the president’s face would probably end up with her being arrested, right?

Oh and there’s this:

— LB (@beyondreasdoubt) December 7, 2017

Wonder if she thought about throwing a drink in Harvey Weinstein’s face?

Paternal to her. For real?

Somebody has daddy issues.

— Ty_in_TX (@Ty_in_TX) December 7, 2017

You know that face you make when you’re pretty sure someone has passed gas in the elevator and you’re not sure who but it’s awful and you have a long way to your floor yet? That’s the face we made when we saw the picture of Lawrence with Weinstein.

Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the houseplants for a change!

So sad. So much beauty and talent. Apparently there is a problem with the magnetic field in Hollywood that screws up her moral compass.

— Stu Parker (@stuparker1) December 7, 2017

Of course, they’d have to have a moral compass in the first place for it to be screwed up but fair point.

Brave! Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand still ‘very troubled’ about Al Franken, but won’t say he should resign

Tue, 12/05/2017 - 21:29

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is a self-styled champion of women, and yet she gets it wrong so much of the time.

At the Women in the World Conference in 2015, she was asked about rape hoaxes like the story that was published and then retracted by Rolling Stone magazine. She answered, “Well, I hope it’s just putting more of a spotlight on the problem” — not the problem of hoaxes, you see, but of sexual assault. Sure, some young men’s lives might have been destroyed by a false accusation of rape, but the real concern for Gillibrand was the sexual assault that never actually happened.

So it’s not surprising that Gillibrand, questioned about Sen. Al Franken at Politico’s “Women Rule” event, would punt on the question if she’d ask him to resign. Check out this convoluted answer which isn’t an answer at all, though she’s still troubled by the allegations.

Would @SenGillibrand ask @SenFranken to resign? "I am not going to say that today. But it is something I’m very troubled about" #WomenRule

— POLITICO Live (@POLITICOLive) December 5, 2017

Gillibrand even draws a line, saying that all sexual misconduct, from assault to groping, is unacceptable. And yet, she can’t answer when asked about Franken, photographed groping a sleeping woman.

The worst

— Luke Thompson (@ltthompso) December 5, 2017

Who’d’a THUNK? Is this the LEAST surprising alleged sexual harasser revelation yet?

Tue, 12/05/2017 - 20:57

Well, this should come as a shock to … absolutely no one:

NEW YORK (AP) — Former employees of top editor for the National Enquirer, Us Weekly and other major gossip publications say he openly described his sexual partners in the newsroom, discussed female employees' sex lives and forced women to watch or listen to pornographic material.

— Meg Kinnard (@MegKinnardAP) December 5, 2017

MORE: 12 former employees told AP the behavior by Dylan Howard, currently the chief content officer of American Media Inc., occurred while he was running the company's Los Angeles office. Howard's alleged conduct led to an internal inquiry in 2012 by an outside consultant.

— Meg Kinnard (@MegKinnardAP) December 5, 2017

AP's full exclusive on allegations against top gossip editor Dylan Howard.

— Meg Kinnard (@MegKinnardAP) December 5, 2017

Some of Howard’s alleged greatest hits, from the AP:

“The behavior that Dylan displayed and the way he was and the way the company dealt with it — I just think that it has to be made public because it’s completely unacceptable,” said Maxine “Max” Page, a former senior editor at RadarOnline. She complained to the human resources department about Howard’s behavior on behalf of two female reporters.

Howard made inappropriate comments to and about one of those women, Page and six other ex-employees said. Howard told employees in the newsroom he wanted to create a Facebook account on behalf of the woman’s vagina, commented on her sex life and forced her and other female employees to either watch or listen to graphic recordings of sex involving celebrities despite there being no professional rationale for doing so, they said.

A former senior editor recalled Howard wrongly claimed during a newsroom meeting that the woman had had sex with a journalism source and praised her for it, saying she needed to “do what you need” to get a story.

Well, gosh.

No way, dude.

Jake Tapper dings MSM for congratulating selves on ‘ridding our newsrooms of high profile sexual predators’

Tue, 12/05/2017 - 20:05

This is a good mini-thread from CNN’s Jake Tapper dinging the MSM for its collective coverage of sexual predators in their midst:

Thread: i don’t think news media should pat ourselves too hard on the back for ridding our newsrooms of high profile sexual predators. With few exceptions (@NPR most notably) the reporting that felled the accused was by different outlets. Big scoops in our midsts — ignored. 1/

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) December 5, 2017

2/ NYT reported on O’Reilly — not Fox. @gabrielsherman and @GretchenCarlson brought down Ailes — not Fox. WaPo reported on Charlie Rose — not CBS. CNN’s @oliverdarcy reported on Halperin — not NBC or ABC. NYT and Variety were working on pieces about Lauer before NBC took action.

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) December 5, 2017

3/ that there has been a “reckoning” (copyright @NorahODonnell) in our industry perhaps more so than any other is great. But most of the offenders were fired only after rival outlets reported on them. #realkeeping

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) December 5, 2017

And actually, it was the Washington Post that first exposed NPR:

It was @washingtonpost that broke @NPR story. But one thing @NPR did was interview CEO. @WNYC is currently interviewing their CEO on air. Other news orgs should do the same – audience deserves it.

— Madhulika Sikka (@madhulikasikka) December 5, 2017

Which actually helps Tapper’s argument:

I stand corrected — am told WaPo originally broke first NPR story. which proves my point even further! but kudos to NPR for covering it as thoroughly as they have —

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) December 5, 2017

Bonus — It was Vox that outed the NYT’s Glenn Thrush:

This is a good point and shows reporters can't be too sanctimonious about this stuff. Also @voxdotcom broke Thrush.

— Eric Michael Garcia (@EricMGarcia) December 5, 2017

In summary, “scoops” are great — just someplace else:

"Big scoops in our midsts — ignored."

‘FINALLY’! SCOTUS Justice Neil Gorsuch hands down HARSH (but fair) cake ruling

Tue, 12/05/2017 - 19:51

While we wait for SCOTUS’ ruling on Masterpiece Cakeshop, Justice Neil Gorsuch has issued a ruling of his own:

Oooh. Justice Gorsuch drags wedding cakes for generally looking good but not, well, having great flavor.

— Scott Shackford [Blue Checkmark] (@SShackford) December 5, 2017

Gorsuch stands up to wedding cakes

— CFPB Director, Sloth Division, Shoshana Weissmann (@senatorshoshana) December 5, 2017

Hey, somebody had to say it.

It needed to be said, honestly.

— Polly Karr (@karr_pe) December 5, 2017

Republicans sacrificed a lot to get this view on the court.

— Ben Pershing (@benpershing) December 5, 2017

We know the value of delicious wedding cakes

— CFPB Director, Sloth Division, Shoshana Weissmann (@senatorshoshana) December 5, 2017

For all the controversy surrounding his appointment, Gorsuch clearly has the right opinion on the seminal issue of our time

— (((Yair Rosenberg))) (@Yair_Rosenberg) December 5, 2017

This is why my wife and I got a cheesecake wedding cake. Because wedding cake wedding cakes are trash.

— Sonny Bunch (@SonnyBunch) December 5, 2017

5 layers w/ 5 different chocolates for us. For same reason.

— Brian Faughnan (@BrianFaughnan) December 5, 2017

Why do people even have wedding cakes when there are literally a billion better foods that exist?
A gigantic pizza would be far superior to a wedding cake and could also be cut.

Why does no one talk about this common sense reform?

— Taqqiya Purveyor (@notwokieleaks) December 5, 2017

Finally, a reasonable, moderate, universally supported ruling from the Supreme Court.

— Mark Maiwurds (@MarkMaiwurds) December 5, 2017

So liberals were right about Gorsuch being extreme – he's going full conservative and banning all wedding cakes

— CFPB Director, Sloth Division, Shoshana Weissmann (@senatorshoshana) December 5, 2017

Exit idea:

J. Gorsuch deserves immediate elevation to Chief for being so damn right.

ALL YOUR FAULT! Samantha Bee writer TIRADES at ‘white people’ who voted 3rd party over Hillary

Tue, 12/05/2017 - 19:18

Nice headline, The Hill.

House GOP education bill would tie funding for historically black schools to graduation rate

— The Hill (@thehill) December 4, 2017

They knew their readers would see this headline and FLIP THEIR SHIZNIT; add a picture of blue-eyed, white boy Paul Ryan and someone was bound to go full crazy about the funding being tied to graduation.

From The Hill:

The House Republican version of the updated Higher Education Act would tie funding for minority-serving institutions to graduation or transfer rates.

The bill would require minority-serving institutions, such as historically black colleges and universities, to graduate or transfer at least 25 percent of students to maintain their funding.

Not that this isn’t typical of funding for all schools but we digress … and why wouldn’t government ask for results when funding these public schools hand over fist?

Eh, the headline got a writer for Samantha Bee all sorts of riled up.

White people will never be able to apologize enough for voting third party or not at all to make up for this shit right here.

But enjoy your schools that will continue to be funded withou hoops to jump through along with everything else.

— Ashley “booze women and movies” Black (@ashleyn1cole) December 5, 2017

And this is what’s wrong with politics in America. You don’t owe your vote to anyone.

3rd party is an important function of the voting system. Why scapegoat them rather than blame non voters, R voters. Why not examine the shortcomings of the D platform? I voted H but Im consistently furious at the fingerpointing at 3rd party voters. They didnt decide the election.

— Rin O (@sparroweye) December 5, 2017

Or better yet, give people better candidates to vote for? Just spitballin’.

Maybe you should blame some people other than the 25% who actually got off their asses and voted, whatever their political beliefs.

— Burn It All Down Brian (@planb247) December 5, 2017

But she was seriously angry.

It’s 8:15 am and I’m already rage eat a whole pizza angry.

— Ashley “booze women and movies” Black (@ashleyn1cole) December 5, 2017

That’s not healthy.

But this editor did laugh (been there).

All the 3rd party voters hate tweeting at me right now.. While you were doing that I wrote some jokes, ate a slice of cake, and accidentally took a nap.

— Ashley “booze women and movies” Black (@ashleyn1cole) December 5, 2017

None of which is all that productive but hey, you be you.

Fuck this. I stand by my third party vote. In my view, neither Trump nor Clinton were suitable for the job. I voted for someone I thought was. Just imagine if everyone took that approach. I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Putting Sam Seder in context: Everyone was tweeting about Roman Polanski on Sept. 29, 2009

Tue, 12/05/2017 - 18:59

As we told you, Twitter erupted over the news that MSNBC will not renew the contract of liberal political contributor Sam Seder, reportedly over this now-deleted tweet about Roman Polanski from Sept. 29, 2009:

According to Seder, “the tweet was satirical and was intended to show his disgust with liberals at the time who were attempting to apologize for Polanksi’s past behavior.”

Seder made a second reference to Polanski on the 29th sounds satirical as well:

I've been reviewing Polanski's page- cannot believe "they" want to hold him accountable for raping a 13 yr old.

— Sam Seder (@SamSeder) October 1, 2009

Keep in mind, September 29, 2009, was one of those days on Twitter where everyone was tweeting about the same topic, which in this case was Roman Polanski.

For starters, Whoopi Goldberg had said on “The View” on September 28 that Polanski didn’t “rape-rape” the 13-year-old victim:

Thank god I didn't watch "The View." Pro-Polanski is untenable. RT @Awl Rape-Rape Is The REALLY Bad One, Right?

— Kate Aurthur (@KateAurthur) September 28, 2009

Whoopi Goldberg says Roman Polanski's drug/alcohol fueled rape of a 13 yr old wasn't "rape-rape." Disgusting. NOW…where are u?

— Rory Cooper (@rorycooper) September 29, 2009

Which certainly set conservatives off:

"Rape rape." Yay feminism!

— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) September 29, 2009

What's the difference between *rape* and *rape rape* Whoopi? Is that a legal distinction?

— Jim "Jim" Jamitis (@anthropocon) September 29, 2009

They say conservatives are woman-haters and libs progressive, but it's the liberals who excuse Polanski for rape.

— John Hawkins (@johnhawkinsrwn) September 29, 2009

RT @JTlol Maybe Hollywood would be okay with Roman Polanski's arrest if we told them he's against ObamaCare. #iamthemob

— Caleb Howe (@CalebHowe) September 29, 2009

And on September 29, Twitter was talking about Hollywood scumbags like Woody Allen and Harvey Weinstein who were defending the child rapist:

woody allen defending roman polanski? PERVERT SHARK JUMP NOW IN PROGRESS

— Oliver Willis (@owillis) September 29, 2009

H. Weinstein says he was persuaded by "Wanted and Desired" of Polanski's innocence a film that, guess what, HE NOW OWNS

— Clara Jeffery (@ClaraJeffery) September 29, 2009

All theses celebs defending Child rapist polanski makes me glad I don't much register on the celebrity totum pole. That club I don't need.

— John Ondrasik (@johnondrasik) September 29, 2009

it's true the Polanski warrant is old – i was 8 when he skipped town. just 5 yrs younger than the girl he raped.

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) September 29, 2009

Polanski should go to jail bc his crime is horrific & because our gov can't allow people to think they can just run away from convictions.

— Touré (@Toure) September 29, 2009

RT @davidsirota To Polanski apologists: He raped a child against her will. Repeat: HE RAPED A CHILD. He needs to go to jail immediately

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) September 29, 2009

RT @jaketapper: would any of them defend Polanski were he: (a) a plumber? (b) a GOP lawmaker? (c) a CEO? // See Foley, Mark, 2006.

— Ed Morrissey (@EdMorrissey) September 29, 2009

And on that same day, 100+ celebrities signed a petition urging Swiss authorities to release Polanski from custody (the director was arrested earlier in the week):

I get that Scorsese, Lynch et al love his movies, but this Polanski petition is a bad look. I can't be the only one losing respect for them.

— Simon Vozick-Levinson (@simonwilliam) September 29, 2009

French filmmakers petition: "If only in the name of friendship btwn our 2 countries, we demand the immediate release of Roman Polanski."

— Clara Jeffery (@ClaraJeffery) September 29, 2009

Roman Polanski faces months behind bars as extradition battle unfolds

— L.A. Times National (@latimesnational) September 29, 2009

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) September 29, 2009

Tilda Swinton, I am ashamed of you. And other disappointing/unsurprising Roman Polanski supporters:

— andy levy (@andylevy) September 29, 2009
