AOC and Piers Morgan are fighting about Ivanka Trump, but it’s a Hillary Clinton staffer who ended up NUKED

Sun, 06/30/2019 - 20:33

Oh, goodie. . .

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Piers Morgan are fighting over her take on Ivanka Trump that we told you about earlier. ICYMI, here it is again where she called out the president’s daughter for meeting with world leaders (we will note that as Ivanka is probably the president’s most trusted adviser, wouldn’t world leaders want to talk with her?):

It may be shocking to some, but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification.

It hurts our diplomatic standing when the President phones it in & the world moves on.

The US needs our President working the G20. Bringing a qualified diplomat couldn’t hurt either. https://t.co/KCZMXJ8FD9

— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) June 30, 2019

Piers Morgan responded by correctly noting that 18 months ago, AOC was just a bartender:

Could be worse… Ivanka could have been a bar-tender 18 months ago. https://t.co/xAj8Guc3hH

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 30, 2019

And before you go and say anything about that, Morgan also was a bartender, or so he says:

Oh Medhi, cool your jets. I was a barman myself once and grew up in a pub. I was responding to @AOC’s absurd attack on @IvankaTrump for not being qualified enough to be in the White House, when she herself was serving drinks 18 months ago. https://t.co/rTCRvjjdnQ

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 30, 2019

Fact check: True:

Yep, she’s also very annoying. https://t.co/iVkKh0QtBc

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 30, 2019

And of course, AOC had to fire back, arguing that if more bartenders were in Congress “we’d probably have healthcare and living wages by now”:

Actually, that would make government better – not worse.

Imagine if more people in power spent years of their lives actually working for a living.

We’d probably have healthcare and living wages by now. https://t.co/HoxIyu6ftj

— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) June 30, 2019

But as fun as the AOC–Piers Morgan fight may be to cover, it was Hillary Clinton spox Jesse Ferguson that ended up getting NUKED when he decided to weigh in on the exchange:

Your useless Hillary campaign got Trump elected.. I’d really stay out of this if I were you. https://t.co/uxcHjbrQOj

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 30, 2019

Goodbye, Jesse. It was nice knowing you. As for Piers, he’s basking in the attention, as you would expect:

Of course! https://t.co/QCYMDQm6jF

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 30, 2019

So would I.. you up for it @AOC?
Or are you all tweets & no trousers? https://t.co/3pWvxJRwpJ

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 30, 2019

And he’s now trending in the U.S. over it:

Love trending in America under only my first name – makes me feel like Oprah. pic.twitter.com/1RKDAUo9Lh

‘Many people will not be able to afford’: Bernie Sanders manages to torpedo Medicare for All AND a public option

Sun, 06/30/2019 - 20:09

After his lackluster debate performance, Sen. Bernie Sanders is trying to regain some momentum in the Democrat presidential sweepstakes.

Appearing on ABC’s ‘This Week’ with George Stephanopoulos, Sanders couldn’t explain how his Medicare for All scheme is actually going to work.

Bernie on government-run health care plan: “You don’t have the taxes unless you have the program”https://t.co/kQa0NPqHFv pic.twitter.com/ciSRga4dQd

— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) June 30, 2019

Feeling cornered by other Dems, he is now saying the “public option,” which is the healthcare Holy Grail for leftists, will be unaffordable.

“You talk about a public option, many people will not be able to afford a public option.”

This is after he admitted during Thursday night’s debate that he would, in fact, be raising taxes on middle-income Americans.

Shocker! Bernie Sanders says he’ll save the middle class by raising their taxes to give them ‘free’ health care’ https://t.co/i9qawcqPe8

— Twitchy Team (@TwitchyTeam) June 28, 2019

Ok @BernieSanders, you say taxes go up $7000 and business owners like me will say "where do I sign?"

Here's an idea; I'll sign, but you have to too. But you have to guarantee the $7k for the same level of service I have now.

You can't because you know it won't work. https://t.co/47zhq19R4k

❌imVin❌ (@bombersfan) June 30, 2019

And, of course, he is among the Democrat candidates who say they are going to essentially wipe out the insurance industry with a snap of their fingers.

‘That was fast’! Kamala Harris was for abolishing private health insurance before she was against it (12 hours later) https://t.co/8hXvq79m60

— Twitchy Team (@TwitchyTeam) June 28, 2019

Sanders and other Democrats can’t even coherently explain their plans to have the government completely take over private health insurance, yet they want millions of Americans to trust them.

Sure Dems, run on that: DNC chair Tom Perez has NO IDEA how to explain his party wanting to give healthcare to illegals https://t.co/uD818xXDSG

— Twitchy Team (@TwitchyTeam) June 30, 2019

Not to mention they want to give healthcare to those who are here illegally.

Pulitzer-prize winning columnist makes EMBARRASSING correction to her WaPost piece on what Kamala Harris wore to the debate

Sat, 06/29/2019 - 12:40

Does anyone really care that Kamala Harris wore black to the debate, or even notice? From the Washington Post’s Robin Givhan:

Perspective: Kamala Harris wore black. That was both unremarkable and theatrically powerful. https://t.co/uItOtn7klJ

— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) June 28, 2019

But people quickly came to Givhan’s defense, noting that she does have a Pulitzer for her past work and that this is an important piece of writing:

From my recollection she's the only person who writes about fashion who has a Pulitzer for that matter!

— (pronounced “My Kell”) (@MikelleStreet) June 28, 2019

The idea that clothing doesn't matter is just baseline ahistorical. Period.

— (pronounced “My Kell”) (@MikelleStreet) June 28, 2019

And if we criticize it, we’re being misogynistic:

— (pronounced “My Kell”) (@MikelleStreet) June 28, 2019

OK, so let’s go read the article, shall we? Here’s the opener. Well, the corrected opener, anyway. . .

She was wearing navy, not black:

HAHAHA! So, why is the Washington Post keeping up the “black” headline? And as for the point of the article — that a woman wore dark colors on a debate stage in the first place, is it really that remarkable? From 2016:

THUD: Dan Rather trips HARD over Obama (and Hillary) in rush to slam how Trump’s dealing with Putin

Fri, 06/28/2019 - 17:14

President Trump met with Vladimir Putin at the G20 Summit, and Russian meddling was mentioned:

"Don't meddle in the election," Trump said in joking manner to Putin. #G20Summit https://t.co/uMAuXRyr2P

— USA TODAY (@USATODAY) June 28, 2019

Godfather of Fake News, noted document examiner and former anchor of the CBS Evening News, Dan Rather, was stunned:

Vladimir Putin didn't just attack American elections. It was an attack on the entire United States meant to undermine our democracy and national security. Seeing President Trump joke with Putin about this shows where the loyalties of the President of the United States really lie.

— Dan Rather (@DanRather) June 28, 2019

Details that are often conveniently skipped over are things such as who was president in 2015/2016 when the “attack” was going on, and how that administration had handled Russia in the months and years leading up to it:

Well, Trump did say to Putin he would have note flexibility after the elections. Oh wait, that was Obama.

— Steven R King (@StevenRKing55) June 28, 2019

Was Rather shocked when that happened? We can’t recall:

Let me remind you about Obama offering flexibility to Russian President. Far more dangerous and treasonous don’t you think? Here’s a reminder #hipocrits #doublestandardshttps://t.co/g6VQGB3WPr

— Mari Wave (@Mari_Ola25) June 28, 2019

Yeah, he should bring out the old reset button or whisper to him he will have more flexibility after the election

— Greg (@gdrazman) June 28, 2019

Ah yes, the “reset button” — good times! How’d that work out?

Yeah, he should bring out the old reset button or whisper to him he will have more flexibility after the election

— Greg (@gdrazman) June 28, 2019

Gosh Dan, are you trying to distract from the horrible performances by your Democratic candidates? Obama promised flexibility after an election while Russia was attacking our security – but thats okay right?

— Betotalkswithhishands (@Liberalknoitall) June 28, 2019

If only he'd have said, "I'll have more flexibility after the election", you'd have been okay with it..

— Jeff Burkhart (@Burky77) June 28, 2019

Rather is among “journalists” who have had a sudden awakening after January of 2017. His memory of what happened in the preceding few years is obviously a little fuzzy.

Shocker! Bernie Sanders says he’ll save the middle class by raising their taxes to give them ‘free’ health care’

Fri, 06/28/2019 - 01:30

The second Democrat debate is off and running, and early on Bernie Sanders expressed a desire to “help” the middle class with his “Medicare for All” plan. But he was asked a follow-up question:

Savannah Guthrie to Sen. Bernie Sanders: "Can I get a direct question? Will you raise taxes for the middle class in the Sanders administration?" #DemDebate pic.twitter.com/TnJ2ci3DxR

— NBC News (@NBCNews) June 28, 2019

Sanders did admit that the “free” benefit that he called a “human right” wouldn’t actually be free:

Sanders says he's going to help the middle class by taking more money from the middle class. #DemDebate2

— Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) June 28, 2019

Democrat Bernie Sanders comes out promoting his socialist agenda, dodges answering whether Americans will have to pay more in taxes under his administration

After being pressed again, Sanders admits Americans will have to pay more in taxes under his administration pic.twitter.com/t4AXjAD3og

And we’re guessing that people wouldn’t love their taxes going way up for “free” health care that involves diminished quality and very long waits to see a doctor.

And we're off. Bernie Sanders just promised to raise taxes on the middle class.

The Democrats are 14 minutes into their debate and Bernie Sanders has already promised to raise taxes, but Kamala Harris says she’s going to repeal that GOP tax scam that only benefitted the 1 percent, and she’s going to do it on Day 1 of her presidency.

For far too long, the rules have been written for big corporations and the 1%. It’s time we change that. On Day One I will repeal the Trump tax scam and give working families the largest tax cut in a generation. #DemDebate

AOC’s Chief of Staff deleted a vile tweet comparing New Democrats and the Blue Dog Caucus to Southern Dems from the ’40s

Fri, 06/28/2019 - 00:46

And “POOF!” it’s gone. Here’s the deleted tweet from Saikat Chakrabarti, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff, where he compared New Democrats and the Blue Dog Caucus to racist Southern Democrats in the 1940s:

Whoa. @AOC’s chief just deleted this. pic.twitter.com/xRJphPAkwb

— Matt Whitlock (@mattdizwhitlock) June 27, 2019

Apparently, he pissed some Dems off when he called them racists:

Me neither, but some progressives took it as a personal insult. So I wanted to make clear that you can enable racism without personally hating brown people.

— Saikat Chakrabarti (@saikatc) June 27, 2019

Maybe because the head of the Blue Dog Caucus is Asian-American?

The co-chair of the Democratic Blue Dog Caucus is the Vietnamese American Rep. Stephanie Murphy, btw https://t.co/oBZz811L7g

— Marcus H. Johnson (@marcushjohnson) June 28, 2019

And now he’s trying to explain things, but it’s not going well:

And I replaced it with the same point stated differently.

— Saikat Chakrabarti (@saikatc) June 27, 2019

Didn't realize this needed to be said, but: you can be someone who does not personally harbor ill will towards a race, but through your actions still enable a racist system. And a lot of New Democrats and Blue Dogs did that today.

— Saikat Chakrabarti (@saikatc) June 27, 2019

This is in reference to my comparing Blue Dogs and New Democrats to 1940s Southern Democrats. Southern Democrats enabled a racist system too. I have no idea how personally racist they all were. And we're seeing the same dynamic play out now.

— Saikat Chakrabarti (@saikatc) June 27, 2019

So they’re supporting a racist system but they’re not racist? Whatever, dude:

This is bad faith nonsense.

But not the least bit surprising from team AOC.

Not. Surprising. At. All.

‘I cannot even’: Can Paul Krugman get his Nobel Prize revoked over this this take on Democrats vs. Republicans?

Thu, 06/27/2019 - 20:11

Paul Krugman is proof that having a Nobel Prize doesn’t necessarily you have anything of value to add to any conversation. Check out this piping-hot take on Democrats vs. Republicans:

Great graphics. US Democrats have gone from being a center-right to a center-left party; the GOP from a right-wing party to an extreme right-wing party, closer to Germany's neo-Nazis than to the global center. https://t.co/srI5taGFCS

— Paul Krugman (@paulkrugman) June 26, 2019

Think that’s brilliant? Then you’ll love his “further thought” on the subject:

A further thought: it's considered normal for leading GOP figures to call Democrats – barely left of center by international standards – socialists. But everyone in the news media would have a fainting spell if a major Dem called Rs fascists, which is much closer to being true

— Paul Krugman (@paulkrugman) June 26, 2019

Yes, all the Democratic presidential candidates openly advocating socialist policies are “barely left of center” but Republicans are fascist neo-Nazis.

Media outlets aren’t holding back on publishing this photo of a drowned father and daughter

Wed, 06/26/2019 - 00:11

Maybe it’s just us, but out of respect for the families of the victims, we’d hesitate to plaster the photos of two dead bodies all over, but this is certainly going to be the typical response:

Anyone who could look at that picture of that father and daughter who drowned trying to cross the border and not feel anything but sick and heartbroken and compassion for the people fleeing for their lives is a straight up sociopath.

— Julie Buxbaum (@juliebux) June 25, 2019

Maybe he’s a sociopath, then, but Raheem Kassam, global editor-in-chief of Human Events, says get ready for the photo of a drowned father and daughter to go viral — on purpose.

Just as Aylan Kurdi was used to swing public opinion in Europe over the migrant crisis, this picture will now go “viral” (artificially).

It’s the same playbook as 2015 Europe. pic.twitter.com/b2lrv3GBRS

— Raheem Kassam (@RaheemKassam) June 25, 2019

CNN, under the headline “Shocking image emerges of migrant father and child drowned at the US-Mexico border,” aired photos of the bodies, with the warning, “WARNING: DISTURBING VIDEO” overlaid over the images of the bodies … in case you’d missed the “graphic content” warning.

CNN reports:

In the photo, the bodies have come to rest near a river bank where five discarded beer cans and an empty soda bottle sit in the tall reeds. Another beer can floats next to the girl’s body.

Salvadoran officials said the father and daughter drowned on Sunday. Their bodies were found Monday.

Salvadoran Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexandra Hill said the government is working with Mexican authorities to repatriate the remains.

She called on those who plan to migrate to the United States illegally to refrain from doing so.

“Our county is in mourning, again. I beg you, to all the families, parents, don’t risk it,” she said, according to a CNN translation. “Life is worth a lot more.”

Maybe we’re sociopaths too, although we do find the photo heartbreaking; the girl was only 2 years old. What we’re not looking forward too, though, is the drowning blamed on the Trump administration. Back to Kassam:

But if you engage your brain, not your emotions, those to blame are (in no order):

1. Mexico
2. Gangs/traffickers
3. Those refusing to build wall aka funnelling people to LEGAL entry points.
4. Open borders activists
5. Parents risking kids lives

— Raheem Kassam (@RaheemKassam) June 25, 2019

Good list – wrong order:

1. Parents
2. Open Borders gang
3. Mexico
4. Gangs
5. Democrats

— Stoshu (@stanwisla) June 25, 2019

6 the governments of the migrants' points of origin (Guatemala, Honduras, etc.)

Gabriel Malor weighs in on ‘the ACLU’s new conspiracy theory’ in the census citizenship question case

Tue, 06/25/2019 - 23:16

Twitchy posted a great thread last week by attorney Gabriel Malor, who debunked a theory advanced by the ACLU and the New York Times alleging that the Trump administration’s decision to restore a citizenship question to the 2020 census was the result of a secret study by the late Thomas B. Hofeller that was found by his estranged daughter on his computer’s hard drive.

The case is now before the Supreme Court, and the plaintiffs are pushing that theory, which Malor calls a conspiracy theory.

Reuters reports:

A U.S. House of Representatives panel on Tuesday moved to hold two members of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet [Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross] in contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas in an inquiry into whether the administration’s plan to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census was intended to discriminate against racial minorities.

The Democratic-led House Oversight and Reform Committee’s action came with a major Supreme Court decision looming on the legality of adding the citizenship question to the census. The justices could rule as early as Wednesday after lower courts blocked the addition of the question as unlawful.

Also on Tuesday, the Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals gave the green light for a federal judge in Maryland to review recently disclosed evidence concerning the question. It includes documents written by a Republican strategist that administration critics said reveal the political motives for asking census respondents about their citizenship.

New wrinkle in census citizenship question case as 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sends case back to district court judge in Maryland so he can review new evidence/allegations re: racial bias claims

— Lawrence Hurley (@lawrencehurley) June 25, 2019

In new letter filed at Supreme Court, Solicitor General says the equal protection/racial bias issue in the census case is "squarely before" the justices and should be dealt with in its ruling, which could come as soon as tomorrow

— Lawrence Hurley (@lawrencehurley) June 25, 2019

Daniel Jacobson is a former Obama White House lawyer:

It's hard to overstate how crazy a request this is. They are asking the Supreme Court to decide a constitutional claim that has NOT been briefed or argued in our case before the Supreme Court, in order to prevent a different court in MD from getting to the bottom of the facts. https://t.co/ogAgiUMm4a

— Daniel Jacobson (@Dan_F_Jacobson) June 25, 2019

And here’s Malor with further analysis:

This is too strong. The district court in the litigation presently before SCOTUS rejected the equal protection claim and DOJ did brief this.

DOJ explicitly wrote in its brief that the equal protection claim should not provide an alternative basis than the APA claim. https://t.co/AyJUfz3EkO

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

This is from DOJ's brief. The evidence did not reveal discriminatory animus by Sec. Ross.

That is a question that various plaintiffs would like to reopen at the eleventh hour, despite there being no evidence that Ross was motivated by Hofeller's unpublished 2015 study. pic.twitter.com/OxTGgOaw3e

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

If you're trying to catch up on this, the ACLU's new conspiracy theory in the census case goes like this.

(This may end up a thing when SCOTUS opinions go live tomorrow at 10am, btw.)

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

The claim: a guy named Hofeller did a secret 2015 study that was motivated by anti-Hispanic (or anti-Democratic) animus. (Hofeller is now dead, so his motivation is an actually unknown and, importantly, this claim is unsupported by the actual text of the study).

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

Hofeller corresponded with a guy named Neuman who consulted with Commerce on the census. (There is no reason to believe Neuman had anti-Hispanic motivations or caught some from Hofeller, but again, this is all unsupported.)

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

Neuman corresponded with DOJ's Acting AAG Gore about the census. (Again, no reason to believe Gore had any animus or picked up something catching from Neuman.)

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

And Gore wrote the letter to Sec. Ross that was in large part the basis of his memorandum adding the citizenship question to the census.

So to revive the equal protection question, you've gotta believe that Gore actually added the citizenship question because of Hofeller.

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

That's what ACLU, courtesy the NYTimes, was blasting out a few weeks ago: a secret study! It infected everyone, and nobody mentioned it in the voluminous discovery in the case.

The problem: there is literally no evidence the study was the basis of the citizenship decision.

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

To get around this little problem ACLU makes an additional claim: that DOJ and Commerce kept it secret in violation of discovery rules and the duty of candor to the court.

Here's the problem: DOJ actually disclosed Neuman's correspondence with Hofeller in discovery.

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

Neuman's discussion of his correspondence with Hofeller takes up 30 transcript pages.

The claim that ACLU just became aware of Hofeller now is, to use a legal term, *le bull shit.*

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

And I am particularly frustrated at how pathetically eager legal reporters are to parrot the ACLU's conspiracy theory.

As I said the other day. It's bad-faith lawyering and bad-faith journalism. And it's in service of a political motive. Damn shame.

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

Speaking of bad faith journalism, here again is how Mother Jones is framing it:

At stake is whether Roberts will allow the Trump administration to rig American politics for the next decade by corrupting the census, and turn the Supreme Court into an unmistakable ally of the Republican Party and white power. https://t.co/Dm0MDChzrc

— Mother Jones (@MotherJones) June 20, 2019

And here’s a little movie the ACLU made about their conspiracy theory last November:

Our lawsuit has revealed the Trump administration's cover-up to rig the 2020 census. pic.twitter.com/caTEzUbIOj

— ACLU (@ACLU) November 2, 2018

“Opponents have called the citizenship question a Republican scheme to deter immigrants from taking part in the census in an effort to engineer a deliberate population undercount in Democratic-leaning areas to decrease the number of U.S. House seats held by Democrats,” Reuters reports.

Or maybe a citizenship question is a perfectly valid question to have on a census counting U.S. citizens.

Stay tuned …

Those ‘Annie Leibovitz’ photos of AOC at the border are getting the meme treatment

Tue, 06/25/2019 - 19:18

Those possibly staged photos that we told you about earlier of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at a migrant detention facility from 2008 are getting the meme treatment and some of them are hilarious.

Up first, AOC as Kylo Ren? Maybe!

And as we pointed out earlier, all AOC had to do was literally walk a few feet to her left to get around the barrier she’s looking longingly through:

Just… go around the fence @AOC pic.twitter.com/9Jc0kcUixh

Gabriel Malor explains why supplies are being turned away from migrant detention centers

Tue, 06/25/2019 - 16:28

So, we’re starting to see this story pop up in our feed today from the Texas Tribune on how donations to migrant detention centers are being refused:

1/ People are buying diapers, wipes, soaps and toys to donate to children in overcrowded migrant detention centers.

But they're being turned away. https://t.co/Pwj3wq9rYt pic.twitter.com/wEXquQKWiy

— Texas Tribune (@TexasTribune) June 24, 2019

And here’s an example of the blue-check outrage:

This is weird, because I've been assured by MULTIPLE internet randos that our government's ongoing torture of infants is purely a funding issue. https://t.co/frNHu747XW

— Angus Johnston (@studentactivism) June 25, 2019

And now here’s Twitchy regular and attorney Gabriel Malor with the explanation of what’s going on:

This sarcasm is perfect for Twitter, not so great for anything else though. DHS is prohibited by law from accepting donations like this, except in some specific circumstances (e.g., FEMA disaster relief).

They end up running afoul of the Antideficiency Act, among other issues. https://t.co/RNrsyq442H

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 25, 2019

They don’t care about this though:

You need to know WHY things are they way they are (not just HOW they are) before you can effectively confront problems.

Or you could just be a sarcastic asshole on Twitter.

‘Friggin PERFECT’! E. Jean Carroll’s take on ‘sexy’ rape gets the Hollywood treatment it deserves [video]

Tue, 06/25/2019 - 16:20

E. Jean Carroll’s credibility was already on shaky ground when she told a visibly stunned Anderson Cooper last night that “most people think of rape as being sexy.” Donald Trump’s cringetastic and ill-advised “She’s not my type” remark notwithstanding, Carroll has done herself absolutely zero favors since coming out of the woodwork with her accusation of sexual assault. But she’s given others plenty of reasons to doubt her story and effectively turned herself into a punchline.

Case in point:

If Carroll were serious about making such a serious accusation against Donald Trump, she could’ve handled this in a serious way. Instead, she’s turned it into some kind of twisted joke. And for that, she’s being treated like one herself.

And CNN’s not looking too good, either.

Jesus, CNN just puts people on who they think will support their agenda without even vetting them. Serves them right.

— Mid-Tex (@tpjohn5454) June 25, 2019

One can actually make a pretty compelling argument that Carroll is being exploited. But there’s really no defending CNN here. They deserve every bit of criticism and mockery they get.

‘What a SLAP in the face’: Brigitte Gabriel and other legal immigrants drop the HAMMER on Dems pushing open borders

Mon, 06/24/2019 - 19:08

LEGAL immigrant Brigitte Gabriel didn’t hold back when tweeting about Democrats who have been pandering to illegal immigrants with promises of open borders and American resources.

I came here the legal way. It cost thousands of dollars and countless hours of my time.

It’s absurd the amount of resources we dedicate to illegal immigrants who come here in violation of our laws.

What a slap in the face.

— Brigitte Gabriel (@ACTBrigitte) June 23, 2019

And this is the biggest argument of all against open borders and amnesty. Legal immigrants came to this country the right way, spending their own time and money to become Americans and Democrats want to ignore all of that so they can bring in a new voter base.

My late wife was a legal immigrant working on her citizenship until cancer took her. Thousands of dollars, and hoops to jump through, to get her to California from the Philippines.

— R.S. Hockett, MBA (@drivn2xl) June 23, 2019

It’s not easy to come here legally, but it’s worth it.

Unless of course, Democrats have their way.

I know the feeling!
I came here legally, countless hours, paperwork, money and stressful times at the embassy in Brazil.
I work, pay my bills and taxes. I don't receive any resource from the government.
Never I could afford to do a MBA.
What a slap for following the law.

America is a country of immigrants … legal immigrants and no amount of wordplay, talking points, or fancy marketing from the Left can change that.

BIG, IF TRUE: Trump officials say acting DHS Sec. Kevin McAleenan behind leak of ICE raid details

Mon, 06/24/2019 - 00:28

Wow…wow…wow…

Former and current Trump administration officials are pointing the finger at acting DHS Sec. Kevin McAleenan for leaking details of this weekend’s now-canceled ICE raids to the media:

5 current and former senior administration officials told me today they believe DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan leaked the ICE raids to the media in order to sabotage the operation https://t.co/6lmdCXQkWQ

— Anna Giaritelli (@Anna_Giaritelli) June 23, 2019

BuzzFeed is reporting on this as well:

Two senior administration officials told BuzzFeed News those within the administration believe acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan, or his staff, leaked operational details and that is what ultimately put the ICE operation in jeopardy: https://t.co/DX63DSIi9A

— mat honan (@mat) June 22, 2019

And from DHS? The proverbial crickets:

20 hours later, DHS still silent https://t.co/rumQvojJQL

— Anna Giaritelli (@Anna_Giaritelli) June 23, 2019

On Saturday, former acting director of ICE Tom Homan lit into McAleenan as well:

On Saturday morning's Fox and Friends, Tom Homan went off on acting DHS Sec. Kevin McAleenan accusing him of resisting the ICE raids and alluded that he leaked the information about the raids to The Washington Post pic.twitter.com/ICkQXkGe73

Homan is an important figure because President Trump let slip on “Fox & Friends” last week that he was up for a new position in the administration, possibly Border Czar or something similar:

What’s she hiding? Multiple news outlets now investigating Ilhan Omar over possible immigration fraud scheme

Sun, 06/23/2019 - 21:34

Uh oh, Ilhan Omar…

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune — Rep. Ilhan Omar’s hometown newspaper — is starting to dig around those allegations that she married her brother as part of an immigration fraud scheme and “has found new evidence that it could be true”:

BREAKING: The StarTribune, which is left-leaning and endorsed Hillary Clinton, has conducted an investigation into the allegation that Ilhan Omar married her brother and has found new evidence that it could be true. https://t.co/npkpaEgN03

— Caleb Hull (@CalebJHull) June 23, 2019

From the Star-Tribune:

New investigative documents released by a state agency have given fresh life to lingering questions about the marital history of Rep. Ilhan Omar and whether she once married a man — possibly her own brother — to skirt immigration laws.

Omar has denied the allegations in the past, dismissing them as “baseless rumors” first raised in an online Somali politics forum and championed by conservative bloggers during her 2016 campaign for the Minnesota House. But she said little then or since about Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the former husband who swept into her life in 2009 before a 2011 separation.

And Omar is refusing to answer questions to clear up the discrepancy, calling any inquiry into her personal life “illegitimate”:

Sent a list of questions and a request to talk to her siblings and father, Omar declined to do so. Hirsi did not reply to multiple calls, texts and e-mails. Social media posts indicate Elmi is in Africa. He did not respond to multiple e-mails.

Omar’s reticence is consistent with near total silence she has maintained for three years amid questions raised through public records picked over by conservative opinion journalists intent on proving that she committed immigration fraud. Those attacks, she once tweeted, are the provenance of “fake journalists on bigoted blogs.”

Omar spokesman Jeremy Slevin issued a statement Friday asserting that the questions about her personal life are illegitimate:

Separately, the Washington Examiner’s Tiana Lowe was in Omar’s district and here’s what she found:

EXCLUSIVE: I went to Ilhan Omar's district for five days. This is what I found. https://t.co/PrQDwbauZT

— Tiana Lowe (@TianaTheFirst) June 23, 2019

EXCLUSIVE: Dozens of documents obtained by the Washington Examiner indicate Ilhan Omar lived with Ahmed Hirsi during the years she claimed to be married by law and in faith to Ahmed Elmi. https://t.co/PrQDwbauZT

— Tiana Lowe (@TianaTheFirst) June 23, 2019

In legal documents, including 24 traffic violations and misdemeanor charges, Hirsi listed his address in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, & 2011 at the same address listed by Omar in 2007, 2009, & 2012.

Omar says she was married to Elmi from 2009 to 2011. https://t.co/PrQDwbauZT

— Tiana Lowe (@TianaTheFirst) June 23, 2019

Omar & Elmi both listed their address in their marriage application as a home in Columbia Heights. Hirsi, though registered a business to the Minnesota Secretary of State using that as his home address just three months after Omar’s legal marriage to Elmi. https://t.co/PrQDwbauZT

— Tiana Lowe (@TianaTheFirst) June 23, 2019

Under penalty of perjury, Omar wrote during divorce proceedings that she had not contacted or known the whereabouts of Elmi since the summer of 2011. Elmi’s social media account published by Alpha News show Elmi with Omar's daughter in 2012. https://t.co/PrQDwbauZT

— Tiana Lowe (@TianaTheFirst) June 23, 2019

We now know that Ilhan Omar attempted to shut down multiple media reports about her marriages during her 2016 campaign. There is evidence that she always lived with Hirsi, and just a single marriage application showing her and Elmi sharing an address. Why? https://t.co/PrQDwbauZT

— Tiana Lowe (@TianaTheFirst) June 23, 2019

And like with the Star-Tribune, Omar’s is not answering any questions from the Examiner:

While I reported from Minnesota, @johnrobertgage made multiple requests to Omar's office on the Hill for comment. She definitively declined. (And yes, in case you wonder why I disappeared for a week, I was scoping out Ethiopian bars in Minnesota.) https://t.co/PrQDwbauZT

— Tiana Lowe (@TianaTheFirst) June 23, 2019

BTW, @IlhanMN @Ilhan, feel free to email me and explain why you & your supposed ex-husband reported living together for 2.5 years when you were supposedly married by law and in faith to someone else. tlowe [at] washingtonexaminer [dot] com. https://t.co/PrQDwbauZT

— Tiana Lowe (@TianaTheFirst) June 23, 2019

Seems like a pretty easy thing to clean up, if, of course, she didn’t marry her brother.

If it were a photo of an old black lady you’d scream about how racist it was, so go fuck yourself. https://t.co/vk8SzCJdhg

Welcome to 2019: A knitting website has banned support for Trump in effort to be ‘inclusive of all’

A major knitting website, Ravelry.com, has announced that it is banning all support for President Trump on its site.

We are banning support of Donald Trump and his administration on Ravelry. We cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy. More details: https://t.co/hEyu9LjqXa

2020 election apparently already hitting the knitting community hard.

They say they are making this move to provide a space that is “inclusive of all.”

Except, of course, Trump supporters.

“We cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all,” should just be your new tagline. https://t.co/RZveupyHrN

“Inclusive of all” was their stated goal while banning anyone who disagrees with them politically. Pretty funny. https://t.co/Gi4weJfj0G

Nothing says inclusive like banning people we don’t like! https://t.co/rmh8ys6wBe

Years from now, people will be able to tell their grandchildren about the day a knitting website broke the internet by banning support for the president of the United States.
